Snowmobile safaris

Don the driving overalls, boots, gloves, and helmet, and start an adventure in the rugged landscape of Himos. The wondrous landscape consists of woods, fields, and open lakes that provide perfect opportunities for playful competitions, as well.

We stop on the way to feast on, for example, a delicious salmon roll in the firelight. Breaks can be taken just to admire the scenery, as well. The experience is crowned by a relaxing sauna afterwards

Introductory safari A mini-safari in the Himosvuori area. This safari introduces you to driving a snowmobile. Duration circa 1,5 hours. €59 per person / two persons per snowmobile, €79 per person / one person per snowmobile.
Teepee safari The route meanders through the diverse terrain of Himos. A packed lunch is eaten midway through the safari. Duration circa 2,5 hours. €88 per person / two persons per snowmobile, €114 per person / one person per snowmobile.
Half-day safari A safari on more demanding terrain. We stop for lunch at a tepee or by a camp fire. Duration circa 3,5 - 4 hours. €110 per person / two persons per snowmobile, €148 per person / one person per snowmobile.
Full-day safari We stop for a packed lunch, as well as coffee or sausage-roasting breaks as necessary. Duration circa 6 - 7 hours. €182 per person / two persons per snowmobile, €224 per person / one person per snowmobile.
Night safari A fascinating expedition into the dark forest. We stop for a packed snack on the way. The snowmobiles are equipped with headlamps. Duration circa 2 - 3 hours. €99 per person / two persons per snowmobile, €129 per person / one person per snowmobile.
Fishing safari We try fishing nets on the frozen Päijänne lake. With luck, we also get to sample some sander. The number of safaris is limited, so book early.                                                                                    Duration circa 2 - 3 hours. €98 per person /two persons per snowmobile, €124 per person / one person per snowmobile.
Special safaris To order, we also arrange longer safaris or safaris with different programme. These may include overnight accommodation, a smoke sauna, meals, and other additional services. Request an offer!
Snowmobile school Instruction in the basics of driving a snowmobile, guidance, and skill driving. After an ‘examination’, you receive a Himos snowmobile driving licence. Snowmobile rental for two extra hours of independent driving included. The package includes instruction, a certificate, a map of routes, and snowmobile rental for two hours after the training (fuel charges of two hours for actual consumption apply). Duration circa  3 hours. €75 per person. Snowmobile school is available also without additional snowmobile rental. Duration of the instruction session circa 1 hour. €20 per person.

The prices are inclusive of snowmobile fuel, equipment (driving overalls, shoes, helmet, and gloves), a packed lunch (with the exception of the introductory safari), services of the safari host, and insurance (deductible: €600). The minimum charge is for four persons.
